Hosanna

This exciting piece begins in the classical style and transitions into a dynamic rhythmic fugue. A very theatrical transition moves into a contemporary black gospel drive with optional solo and recapitulates back to the original theme. The piece ends with a coda once again in the contemporary style. The scene portrays the excitement on Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. As part of the larger work "Hallelujah to the King" this piece has had an even greater impact when performed with dancers.
