When paired with the Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus text, the hymn tune HYFRYDOL is especially appropriate for the Advent and Christmas seasons but is also useable throughout the church year when paired with other well-known texts. This arrangement is particularly versatile, with multiple options for performance based on the number and skill of the ringers available. The bell tree part may be played by a soloist on a bell tree or using the six-in-hand technique (instructions and diagram are included). The handbell part, which does not use any of the same bells as the bell tree ringer, may be played by a soloist at a table or by multiple ringers. The chime part may be played by a chime choir or on a keyboard.
