Lots of rubato and flowing melodic lines give directors plenty of opportunity to highlight the text while allowing the utmost musical expression. The opening showcases the treble and bass voices separately, while the soaring middle section allows the choir as a whole to come together and shine. This is truly a beautiful, showstopping piece with a meaningful message that is the perfect spring concert closer.
