Strohm, written in a manner suggestive of improvisation and showcasing different musical styles. These impromptus emphasize tone, technique and musicality for both performers. They are outstanding works for contest, concert or recital, either individually or as a set. In the first impromptu, the trombone soars sails over a rolling, arpeggiated piano, with the piece alternating between a stormy, driving primary theme and a calm, floating secondary restatement.
