Nadia Boulanger's short but exquisitely beautiful setting of words from the last section of the Requiem mass is a highly spiritual work that reaches deep into the soul of the listener. A lightly pulsating quarter note accompaniment contrasts with finely crafted vocal lines. The original vocal solo is realized here in a full scoring that draws upon the unique qualities of treble voices.
