In the Bleak Mid-Winter

In 1906, the composer Gustav Holst composed a setting of Christina Rossetti's poem, commonly performed as Christmas carol, in The English Hymnal which is sung throughout the world. In this version for brass quintet the contemplative nature of the tune is preserved and enhanced by more modern harmonies, culminating in a introspective final verse and ending. Duration: 2:38.
