For Christmas concerts, Lessons and Carols services, or worship settings, the pairing of Rossetti's poignant carol with this arrangement of Holst's tune provides a welcome balance with the more exuberant carols. It can be performed with organ alone, but the brass ensemble adds color and text painting.
