In the Modes

This collection introduces the ancient Greek modes through ensemble playing and improvisation. �Each piece contains a written score along with motifs for each mode, laying the foundation for question-and-answer improvisation which can lead to newly composed melodies. �Each piece includes a sequenced and thorough process with visuals, a suggestion for final form, and extensions. �The pieces transfer both to Orff instruments and marimbas for general music classes or select ensembles. �
