This arrangement for brass quintet begins by developing the typical emotional feeling of peaceful longing consistent with verse one of the original lyrics. It then turns celebratory consistent with verse two - "We shall sing on that beautiful shore!" The piece climaxes with an emphatic refrain and coda which underscore the forthcoming celebration - "When we shall meet on that beautiful shore!" An optional Tambourine can add to this celebratory style. Alternate instrumentation is provided consisting of Alto Sax (for F Horn), and Tenor Sax ( for Trombone). In addtion, a Trombone or Bass Guitar can play the Tuba part as written. An alternate ensemble consisting of saxophones and a Bass Guitar (along with the two trumpets) can create an exciting and unique musical texture.
