Introduction and Fandango

Originally written for a string quintet, this marvelous work was also arranged by Boccherini for guitar and string quartet. Some performances even use castanets to enhance this manifestly Spanish work. It is amazing that well within the Classical Period framework, a vast array of textures and string effects were explored by the adventurous Boccherini. Players and audiences alike will be captivated by the sheer elegance and vibrancy of this music.
