It Flows

This water-themed composition explores the combinations of irregular polyrhythms against regular note groups. Arranged for alto sax and marimba, the melody flows back and forth between the two instruments, presenting a feeling of moving water interspersed with sections of rhythmic intensity. Timbal trills and alternate fingerings are used to enhance the overall effect of the arrangement for a moving contemporary performance.
