Horn in F Quartet

Format

This is a traditional version of the "graduation song".
    
    What make it unique is that it can be played with just the woodwinds, just
  the brass or just percussion or any combination of these three voices. (any
  keyboard instrument is permissible for percussion). For large numbers of
  graduating students, this arrangement will help with endurance and every
  repeat being the same. The quarter note style may be slightly separated or
  not. I will leave this up to the director.

  understand it better by and by.

Hymn our Horns #28

This selection will demand maturity from young performers. It is not
  high, loud and fast. It is emotion played on instruments. Do not be shocked
  when the audience is afraid to be the first to applaud at the end. This may
  be one of the saddest musical works ever composed. I hope I have enhanced the
  goal of the composer.

Prelude In C Minor

This great old hymn is another favorite of many church members. This
  arrangement is challenging, but you should have fun working it out. I hope
  you enjoy the music.

There Is Power in the Blood

This arrangement of MOONLIGHT SONATA is written in traditional concert band style. I did not even think about variations and counter-melodies. I would not dare try and improve on perfection. This music will be a challenge for younger performers; not so much range and rhythem, but because of the maturity it will take to perform one of Beethoven's greatest works.

    This arrangement of one of Beethoven's most well known compositions calls
  for a very musically mature group of musicians.

The primary songs in this selection are OVER THERE and Grand OLD  FLAG. Other segue songs include YANKEE
  DOODLE DANDY, GIVE MY REGARDS TO BROADWAY, and a few other songs that blend
  with the Cohan melodies. This piece would make a great marching selection and
  would even song better on stage. It could be performed by almost any level of
  playing ability. Enjoy.

The George M. Cohan March

This piece is unique in the at a slower tempo, it is payable by first
  year students and at a faster tempo, it will be playable by advanced string
  players. The suggested tempos for first year students: Quarter = 120 - 132.
  For advanced students: Half = 120-140. Other factors that makes this playable
  is that there are three melodic lines. The first violin has the melody, the
  second violin and the viola play the harmony part, and the cello and
  contrabass play the bass line. The viola and second violin are playing
  unison. This would make a great grand finale on a spring concert. Almost all
  notes are part of the G Concert scale, but there are a few accidentals needed
  for the harmony. The music has bowings and the measures are numbered. The
  recording has the beginner verson and the advanced version. There is a twelve
  second gap between the two versions. If you hear any extra rhythms in the
  fast version, my Hal 9000 computer thinks he is a composer. Enjoy the music!

  They may be performed individually or as a suit with segues. One unique
  feature is that the conductor may set their own style for "I Must Tell
  Jesus". Enjoy.

Three Hymns for String Orchestra

This beautiful chorale-like processional is recognizable the world over.
  I arranged it in an antiphonal style beween the woodwinds and brass. This
  piece would be suitable for a wedding, graduation or other official affairs.

<p>This march is quite unique in that it calls for canon blasts and there are many bugle calls and Military songs that blend with the chord progressions. AS the trio starts, listen for the left---left---left right left in the percussion.. ON the last time through the trio, listen for TO THE COLORS Bugle Call. I hope you enjoy this march.</p>

MARCH OF THE CAISSONS

This is one of the most often used hymns for Easter church
  services.
    
    Adding a horn quartet would be the icing on the cake. Play the first 16
  measures for each verse and the last 16 measures along with the last verse.
  Some transposing may be necessay. Enjoy.

This hymn is perfect for Palm Sunday. Though the music is not very
  difficult,  the words are powerful.

Here is a hymn that is perfect for Easter. Issac Watts wrote the words in
  the seventeen-hundreds and Lowel Mason composed the Music. The melody only
  used five notes, but what a powerful message this song brings. The horn parts
  are playable  by most experienced
  players. The video is one of the Gaither Concerts and they sing this awesome
  song, Enjoy.

Hymn Four Horns # 30

This is a song that was written in 1885. Willie Nelson did a version of
  "Unclouded Day" and revived the song's popularity.  I wonder how often the sky was clear during
  1812. Listen and you will understand. Enjoy.
