Japanese War March

This setting features the folk song Kokiriko Bushi, believed to be the oldest folk song in Japan. Normally it's presented in a serene setting, but here it takes on a new life as an up-tempo, warlike march. The music is enhanced by the use of a vast array of sounds inspired by Japanese noh theater that incorporates percussion and verbal punctuations or chants.
