Inspired by my fascination with history, this collection of songs uses poetry from different perspectives during World War I. The text comes from philosophers, poets, and even a soldier serving in the war. These songs combine the use of handbell and pre-recorded electronic sounds with a mezzo soprano voice to create a sonic environment of mourning and melancholy as it relates to death that comes with war.

This work celebrates the Mexican half of my heritage, integrating multiple elements of the Mexican music tradition with my classical training.
