Jazz Duets

This book of duets is meant to give young students a first taste of the cello and some of the elements of jazz and improvised music. All 25 pieces are written in first position, using increasingly more complex harmonies, bow strokes, and fingering. Working on two duets per month will give a full year of lessons to consolidate basic cello technique. After working on Jazz Duets another skill will be awakened or stimulated - the capacity of improvisation.
