Jazz Basics is designed to work with the full ensemble and is a preliminary step to the Aebersold series. The score (not the parts) includes two CDs full of aural exercises and performance examples.  It has an in-depth approach to the rhythm section, including comprehensive books for guitar, bass, piano, and drums.
