Jesus Refuge of the Weary

This fifteenth-century Lenten text is set to original music that captures the author's heartfelt introspection and fervent devotion to Christ and his sacrifice. The first stanza, set in the minor mode, is a plaintive cry to Jesus; the second stanza, harmonically more intense, acknowledges the debt; and the final stanza in the major key is a fervent prayer for increased commitment to the Savior.
