Jingle Jingle with Kris Kringle is written for young bands. It may be performed for a winter concert by a 1st-year band by omitting the countermelody at measure 27 where the bass instruments play the Jingle Bells melody. This arrangement is also suitable for 2nd year bands as written. The countermelody is very simple, but it is beyond the capabilities of students with less than 8 weeks instruction. Clarinet notes are below the break. There are no eighth-notes in the music for wind instruments. A suitable tempo will be decided by the director. All instruments will have an opportunity to play the melody to Jingle Bells. Regarding the continuous Sleigh Bells part, young players may not be able to play the part steadily from beginning to end. If so, the director may wish to have other players share the part at suitable intervals. *****Thank you for choosing this composition. I hope you and your students will find it instructive and enjoyable.
Sincerely, Joseph Compello *****
