John W. Schaum Piano Course

This elementary-level book begins with simple songs having a right hand melody and left hand harmony of one note. Sometimes the melody is shared between the hands. Eighth notes are taught at the beginning of the book, as are half and whole steps. The major scale is introduced theoretically and then applied with The Escalator. Pieces use the following hand positions throughout: middle C and C, G, F, D, A Major.
