The Celtic Xylophone (Book 1) is the first in a series of Irish arrangements for solo xylophone and piano. There is enough stylistic variety in the collection of three works that they may be performed as a set or separately. Each piece in the book represents a different type of Irish tune. The solos are Irish Washerwoman (a Jig), Londonderry Air (a Ballad), and The Absent-Minded Woman (a Reel).
