Transposed to G major from the original key of Eb, this setting of the Jupiter theme remains remarkably true to the original version. All parts are playable in first position except for the bass, which requires a brief shift for C above the staff. Orchestras without basses may effectively perform this arrangement, provided the cello line is sufficiently covered. A wonderful opportunity for inexperienced groups to perform this soaring melody from a monumental orchestra work.
