This arrangement for brass quartet is a refreshing presentation of this old hymn. The style develops from a thoughtful hymn-like beginning, to an easy swing, then to a full-out swing with an optional tambourine, and finally to a meditative ending. Alternate instrumentation consisting of Horn in F or Tenor Sax (for Trombone I), and Bass Guitar (for Trombone II) creates a nice musical texture and is another great way to present this piece. This arrangement is well-suited for many venues, and is readily playable by many community or church ensembles.
