This arrangement for brass quintet is a refreshing presentation of this old favorite hymn. The style develops from a thoughtful hymn-like beginning, to an easy swing, then to a full-out swing with an optional tambourine, and, finally, to a quiet meditative ending. Alternate instrumentation consisting of Alto Sax (Horn in F), Tenor Sax (for Trombone), and Bass Guitar (for Tuba) creates a very nice musical texture and is another great way to present this piece. This arrangement is well-suited for many venues, and is readily playable by community, or church quintets.
