An a cappella choral work for double chorus (Choir I/SSAATTBB and Choir II/SATB)), written in the style of a concert spiritual. Originally commissioned for the American Spirituals' Ensemble (Dr. Everett McCorvey) and the Denison University Gospel Choir (Dr. Raymond Wise). Suggested advanced or professional choir for choir I and beginning or intermediate choir for choir II.
The song can be performed a cappella or with djembe accompaniment (djembe rhythm score included). A piano part for rehearsal only is also included.
Since the song's text celebrates a traveler's journey from earth to glory, it can be used as a processional or marching or rocking movement can be incorporated. This song is also available in a single choir version (SSAATTBB), and a single choir version with full orchestration. Premiered at Denison University (2007).
