Americana is built around Holy Manna, a beautiful but simple pentatonic
  melody, and Nettleton, better known as Come Thou Fount of Every
  Blessing.  This dynamic arrangement
  provides ample opportunity for the sections of your band to shine as the
  music unfolds, building to a climatic ending with the merging of the two
  themes.  
    
    These two songs were important in the flourishing American culture of the
  18th and 19th centuries, when they were frequently sung at the revivalist
  camp meetings. Composer Charles Ives even mentions Nettleton in his boyhood
  memories: I remember, when I was a boy . . . how the great waves of sound
  used to come through the treesawhen things like Beulah Land, Woodworth,
  Nearer My God to Thee, The Shining Shore, Nettleton, In the Sweet Bye and Bye
  and the like were sung by thousands of alet outa souls.

Future World

"Clear Horizons" is a concert march for developing bands.  It follows a simplified version of the traditional march form.  Trumpet and Trombone sections have limited divisi, but all other parts are unison throughout.  It is a good choice for a concert opener.  GRADE 1.5 (EASY).

  Christmas/Holiday Concert, this could be it. 
  "Four Ancient Carols" is a musical tapestry, woven together
  with material from Masters in This Hall, Coventry Carol, O Come, O Come
  Emmanuel, and Marys Wandering. 
  
    
    Your students will encounter a few meter changes, modulations and shifts in
  tempo, but over-all this is an easy piece to teach.  It will make a good centerpiece for this
  years holiday program.

Four Ancient Carols

Considering the popularity of goosebumps and wizards, what could be more
  appealing than a piece entitled Magic and Mystery?  This one is going to make every one of your
  percussionists want to play mallets.

Magic and Mystery

This brief but powerful piece is dedicated to those first patriots who
  took their stand for American liberty on Concord Bridge, April 9, 1775.  
    
    The piece opens with trumpets and builds in intensity as more and more
  instruments join, all leading to an exciting and brilliant climax with full
  band.  This piece would serve well as
  an opening to any concert, but particularly one with a patriotic emphasis.

Celtic Prelude is a dynamic work based on two beautifully moving hymn songs, SLANE (Be Thou My Vision) and ST. COLUMBA (The King of Love my Shepherd Is).  It is a great choice for festival or concert hall.  Scored for Concert Band Grade 3 (MEDIUM).

Ancient Realms depicts pageantry and celebration in the great hall of an
  imaginary ancient kingdom... moderate ranges and lots of percussion.

CHASING THE WIND is a tone poem cast in the form of a prelude and fugue.  It was inspired by Ecclesiastes 1:14, "I observed everything going on under the sun ...it is all like chasing the wind."  It is written for Wind Ensemble / Concert Band and of medium difficulty.  CHASING THE WIND would be a great choice for concert or festival.

Western Town is one of a group of musical miniatures by Keith Andrews
  that depict the imaginings of children at play.  This piece evokes images of daybreak in an
  old west cow town.

Every Thursday evening, in the summertime, there was a band concert in Eisenhower Park, Abilene, Kansas.  This concert march is a tribute to those faithful musicians and a fond remembrance of the kind of music we played.  Eisenhower Park is a fairly traditional piece with a few fun twists, a Grade 3 march that would be a great addition to any band performance.

  good friends.  That is the kind of
  feeling you get from A Walk in the Park. 
  
    
    This piece is based on an original 3-part canon.  You will be able to hear the repetitions of
  the melody as it is passed around the various sections of the band. It
  provides an easy and fun introduction to contrapuntal music.

This work for concert band will take you and your audience on an
  adventure out on the high seas.  The
  two distinct themes represent the jaunty pirates and the royal navy.

On the High Seas

The American Spiritual Trilogy is a collection of traditional spirituals, adapted and arranged for concert band or wind ensemble.  The movements can be performed as stand alone pieces, or the Trilogy can be performed as a suite.  The melodic themes are drawn from "Ride on, King Jesus," "King Jesus is A-listening," "Steal Away," "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," "Sometimes I Feel like a Motherless Child," and "The Gospel Train."  The work is graded 2.5 (MEDIUM EASY).

American Spiritual Trilogy

"With Sweet Rejoicing" is based on two tunes by Michael Praetorius, "IN DULCI JUBILO" (Good Christian Men, Rejoice), and "ES IST IEN' ROS' ENTSPRUGEN" (Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming).  These lovely melodies are wonderfully representative of the late Renaissance and early baroque era.  It is scored for Concert Band or Wind Ensemble.  GRADE 3 (MEDIUM)

With Sweet Rejoicing

This work is an arrangement of Beethoven's famous Octet in Eb for the modern Wind Symphony or Concert Band.  It is arranged and orchestrated to maintain the sparkle and clarity of the original while expanding the musical color palette.  GRADE 3 (MEDIUM).

Rondino

MANGER SCENE is based on the traditional Carol, "Away in a Manger."  It has been arranged for developing bands.  Could be a perfect fit for a first concert.  (GRADE 1 - very easy).
