Ki Hineih Kachomer

This 12th-century piyyut, a Hebrew spiritual poem, is inspired by Jeremiah 18:3-6 and Isaiah 64:7. The poets draw on a vivid array of metaphors from everyday occupations - potters, masons, glassblowers, sailors - all shaping and guiding their work with their hands and forming the material into new and more beautiful forms.
