The ballad, Krystyna, was created for my wife. She was born and raised in Poland,
consequently the spelling of her name. I have created a number of different
versions of this song. One of the earliest was for MIDI Trombone with
electro-acoustic music accompaniment.
I performed it a number of times in concerts in Europe. Another
version can be found on the CD, Rod Plays Oakes Plays Rod, iiii records. This
version is for a jazz quartet consisting of trombone, guitar, bass, and drums
and was recorded by the group known as OGOGO.
Both of these led to this big band arrangement.
