Pidoux, building upon his experience with the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris and his years teaching at the Paris Conservatoire, has crafted a fascinating arrangement of Verdi's beloved La Traviata for eight violoncellos. The introduction, along with two immediately recognizable excerpts - Brindisi and Sempre libera, are wonderfully transcribed by a master cellist fully familiar with the opera.
