La Valiente

Combining flamenco, tango, and just plain fun, this rousing Spanish piece is sure to be a bright spot in any group's next concert. Written in D minor, it modulates approximately halfway through to a happier-sounding F major; but as the piece concludes, students find themselves back in D minor. First trumpet's highest note is G; first and second clarinets cross the break, and the percussion writing is great. Excellent!
