Lamento Cubano

I composed this movement with a heavy heart. This movement represents reflections of the past. A sad truth, a life stripped of happiness and freedom, and no other choice but to leave this beautiful island. The percussion parts are mostly meant to sound free, with a sense of randomness. Although the movement is marked adagio, the conductor has lots of liberties for expressive decisions. The conductor is given freedom to phrase the entire movement to their liking
