Land of the Rising Sun Suite

This is a five movement suite that pays homage to five Japanese icons, Cherry Blossom, Geisha, Haiku, Samurai, and Mt. Fuji. Each movement has it own character drawing on traditional Japanese music, scales, and theory, blended into Western style music. Each movement serves to create imagery of its subject. The final movement recalls the preceding ones with motifs, which is fitting because Mt. Fuji is the most famous cultural and spiritual icon of Japan.
