Late Arrival

This infectious and accessible shuffle chart opens big and full, then goes to the saxes and trumpets for a solid presentation of the head.  It's based on a 16-bar blues in two keys that shift back and forth for terrific harmonic variety.  Also featured are some straight dotted-8th note figures that really punch, and a highly effective a cappella section with the saxes and brass trading.  All of this is followed up by a shining trombone soli.  The solos are open with chords and suggested solos included.  This is an extremely "good time" chart!  Highly recommended!
