Late to Lunch

With a cool groove at a moderate tempo, Late to Lunch is a laid-back and soulful funk chart that will get your band groovin' hard in the friendly key of B-flat. The features include a wonderfully melodic head with section trades and brass punches and an effective drum break and short ensemble section leading to the written or improvised solos for tenor sax and/or trumpet. The backgrounds really start to cook behind the soloists, then there's an a cappella section after the solos, then the drummer brings the ensemble into a modulation to F for even more excitement while restating the funk theme that leads to a big finish.
