Lavender Sunset

This beautiful ballad, scored for young jazz players, is a solo feature for trumpet. With an emphasis on lyricism and rich harmonies, it also includes a double-time solo section that can be played as written or improvised. Instrumentation options abound with just nine players, standard big band format, or optional expanded instrumentation to include flute, clarinet, horn in F, tuba and vibes parts. Also featuring nice full ensemble passages, this is a great opportunity to shine the spotlight on a young trumpet soloist!
