"Les Barricades Mystérieuses" is a keyboard piece by the French baroque composer François Couperin, and it is thought that the name refers to women's eyelashes. The original music was written for harpsichord, but it is usually played these days on a piano. The notation uses a lot of tied notes which can be confusing initially, so we have created a realisation of the same piece using alternative notation which you may find useful as a practice aid - just remember to sustain most notes for longer than this simplified notation implies.
