Let the Lower Lights Be Burning

A beautiful new setting of the text by Philip P. Bliss, inspired by an 1870 Dwight L. Moody sermon citing the shipwreck which occurred at the entrance to a harbor because the "lower lights" had gone out even though the lighthouse light burned bright. A challenge to consistent Christian witness, this wonderful music is for mixed choir and organ based on Pleading Savior , a folk melody from The Christian Lyre.
