As someone who recently lost a loved one, the process of channeling grief has been a constant and unpredictable journeyone filled with emotions that run the gamut from crippling heartache to tranquil resolve. Fortunately, comfort can be found in many places and in many forms. A favorite example is the reassuring poem by Clare Harner ("Do not stand by my grave and weep") and its profound message of beholding the eternity of life in the nature that surrounds us, and its reminder that grief and memory are close companions: when memories exist, life goes on. In keeping with the mood of the text, the musical setting is quiet and reflective, with minimal divisi in the upper voices and a soprano duet/descant at the end. It is approximately 4:45 in duration
