A ballad-like melody, well-suited to the ostinato piano accompaniment, and a sweeping text combine to give this anthem a timeless quality. Unison and two-part writing predominate, with some a cappella SATB writing towards the end. Optional violin and cello parts are a great addition to this anthem, which is suitable for Pentecost or general use.
