Lily of the Valley

This short work for flute and guitar is a road map of the friendship between my older sister Sophia and I. The flute represents my sister, and the guitar represents me. She was born first and thus begins the piece as a solo until I come into the world and our voices begin to interact in harmony. As the piece goes on, conflict arises and is reflected in the back-and-forth nature of the aggregate. Though, as all conflict between us two, this musical conflict resolves into the cadence of love and friendship that has defined our dynamic duo since I was born.
