A Not So Terrible Parable

Sometimes fears and anxieties can make us feel like the sky is falling! On her last day on grandma's farm, Faith falls into an afternoon nap after a busy day of playing, and into a dream where she thinks she has fallen asleep at night and forgotten to lock grandma's chickens safely in the coop. In a panic she looks for them, and quickly finds them -- now human-sized chickens wearing party hats, celebrating their "freedom" from the coop. Concerned to get them back home safely, she discovers they must cross the Pit of Fear, the Mountain of Expectations, and the Forest of the Unknown -- exaggerated "dream versions" of things she is dealing with back home in real life. While facing these dangers (along with an unending stream of chicken jokes and puns), Faith is reminded of all she has learned from God's Word which arms her, and her new poultry-pals, to trust God no matter what the fear or anxiety. Great songs, fun dialogue, easy to learn, impossible to forget!

On a beautiful Saturday morning, the kids' choir from First Church has just hit the ground at Rock Creek Park for a missions work day. While their leader Miss Stone "rallies the troops" to get to work on the cleanup, she reminds the kids that famous Christian rock star Max Rockanelli will also be in the park today to lend a hand. �Jazz (a singer), Charlie (a drummer), and Sam (a guitar player) have caught wind that not only will Max be helping in the park, he will be shooting his new music video here, and perhaps this could be the "big break" at stardom each of them has dreamed about. �While the kids make their humorous but slightly off-base grabs at the spotlight, Max appears on the scene, and lovingly helps show the kids that in the body of Christ, God has given gifts to all of us. When the over-the-top Hollywood video director Stephie Steelburg arrives, it is time to shoot the video, and with a newfound understanding of really working together, all the kids are ready for the climactic conclusion. The cameras roll, and Max shouts ... "Let's Rock!" The work is simple to perform, features rich characters, fast-moving dialog that is fun, but not "smart-alecky," and a strong Biblical "take-away" for the performers and the audience.

Christmas time is filled with sound! Sometimes, so much sound and noise that we can hardly hear the real message of Christmas. In the hustle and bustle at a crowded "Mondo-Mart" filled with shoppers, shy Taylor and the rest of her youth group have stopped for some last-minute snacks on their way to a fun Christmas camp. Taylor, not much for talking, but a great hide &amp; seek player, has found the perfect hiding place. So perfect, in fact, that she doesn't notice when the rest of the group boards the bus and the store is closed for the night! Hard to tell who is more surprised,Taylor, when she emerges from her hiding place, or the fun-loving store mannequins who break their silence assuming that once again, the store is theirs for the night. Taylor quickly discovers that all store mannequins know about Christmas is what they've heard over the PA system during the Christmas season, and boy, are they misinformed! And, the not-so-high-tech night watchmen listening in from outside the store are nearly as confused as the mannequins. It's a zoo out here. Bethlehem's homes and inns may be bursting at the seams with travelers for the census, but because of the animals they brought with them, the stable is simply out of control with camels, donkeys and goats up to the rafters. Even the normally sleepy hillsides are now teeming with an abundance of sheep, and Bethlehem's top temp agency must call on their most eager but often inept family of workers, the Wooltons, to step up and answer the call.
