Yeeeeeehaaaa! This wonderful, intermediate level piece makes a stunning recital piece! It is a tribute to our marvelous Lone Star state, Texas. It is written in three different movement, each written for a different cultural tradition. The first part represents Dallas and Houston, and is very grandiose in character and diversity. It is supposed to be bold and expressive just like two of the largest cities in Texas. The next movement is tender, yet magnificent. This part is reminiscent of the San Antonio River Walk and the Austin Hill Country. Lavish chords and syncopated rhythms make this slow movement beautiful and easy to listen to. And last but not least, the final movement is entitled "Rodeo Rose." It is fast and feisty and even has a narration to go along with it! Enjoy!!
