Magnificat anima mea

This energetic opening movement of a larger setting of the Magnificat certainly stands on its own. Brilliant choral writing can be accompanied by full orchestra, chamber orchestra, or organ and harp (piano) with optional percussion. Divisi writing creates rich sonorities, and careful Latin text declamation is achieved through meter changes and lively rhythmic interplay. An exciting and highly recommended work.
