March of the Zombies

This unique chart is an exercise in diminished chord harmonies for groups that want to branch out from the normal swing formulas. The melody is first presented by a trio of tenor sax, trumpet and trombone with solo opportunities for all three. The excitement builds throughout a hip ensemble passage making way for the full band to shout through a swinging chorus of the melody. The trio returns to close out the tune with the brass adding color with various mutes.
