This is a choral setting of Luke 2:18-20. After the shepherds had heard the angels and seen the baby in the manger, we are told that they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.
Though there are a few places where the parts split, this is essentially an SATB choral anthem. As with all of my music, there are mp3 practice files available at no charge for each vocal part on my website, Christianchoralanthems.com. As is also the case with my music, I have left the dynamics mainly to the director.
I hope that the anthem captures a least a small part of the wonder and the beauty of that first Christmas night.
