Mass for a New Millennium

Constructed in similar form to the concert masses of Mozart and Haydn, this ten-movement work was completed in the year 2000 as an uplifting and hopeful work for a new era of peace and prosperity. The music is very melodically based, with regular changes in meter throughout that follow the natural phrasing of the texts. It is set for mixed choir with soprano, mezzo-soprano, and tenor soloists. The instrumentation for organ, harp, oboe, timpani, and mallet percussion gives the work a symphonic feel without the major cost of large instrumental ensemble.
