Originally composed for caroling outdoors in December, this energetic A Cappella medley brings together three Christmas favorites. This two-minute work is arranged to be accessible. A fun chorale of "Deck the Halls" gives way to the simple melody of "O Holy Night." Harmonies build into the chorus, which is adapted to a chorale setting without the traditional piano accompaniment. An exciting a cappella key change brings the work to a close with a mostly unison "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," finishing off with a brief recapitulation from "Deck the Halls." A crowd-pleaser in concert or caroling on the town!

Originally composed as an choral prelude for a church service, this setting of Luke 6:20 is effective a cappella, with the provided piano accompaniment, with organ doubling the voices, or with both organ and piano. The translation of the short Latin text is included in the PDF. Luke 6:20 is the first of the Beatitudes. In the Roman Catholic lectionary, it appears in the Gospel reading for the Sixth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year C. The same ideas are found in Matthew 5:3, proclaimed in the Gospel reading for the Fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A.

This charming original for two-octave handbell choirs introduces ringers to the form of theme and variations through a simple eight-measure theme with eight variations, lasting around two minutes. Perfect as a prelude, offertory, concert piece, or more.

2 Octave Handbells

This lively anthem is particularly well suited to the dedication of a church (or addition to, or renovation of a church), or a celebration of its anniversary. It is also appropriate for celebrations of unity or general use. The text is drawn from Psalm 100, 1 Corinthians 3, and Galatians 6, with the latin refrain from the ancient Liber Usualis from the Common for the Dedication of a Church. Singing and literal translations of the Latin text are provided. The simple refrain can be performed a cappella to accompany a procession or repeated throughout as an ostinato.

This prelude for three-octave handbells was composed and first performed at my wedding, where the handbell choir at St. Matthew the Apostle Parish in Randolph, New Jersey led the procession. It features an easily-memorized eight-measure opening that can be repeated as needed so the handbell choir can join the procession - whether for a wedding, a church service, a concert, or any other ceremony or event.

This prelude was composed for nine ringers, with two bells each and no bell changes. Creative bell assignments can achieve an effective performance with fewer ringers; assigning just one bell to some ringers can feature additional performers.
