May You Now Find Your Rest

A work written in memory of a dear friend's passing. The poem is set to a melody created by transliterating the name of the departed (and his dear wife) into music. The piece bids him farewell and marvels at what he must now be seeing. Visions of heavenly glory eventually fade as he enters his eternal rest, and in the final verse a call is given to all who are listening to come and know the Lord. Pace, 2024 May you now find your rest, Dear servant of the Lord: Finished is your earthly toil, Now bask in your reward! Dear brother, your pain is gone; You are now where you belong. You dance in glory now, 'Round Heav'n's eternal throne. Robed in white and spotless, Give your praise to Him alone: "Hosanna! Hallelujah To the Lamb who was slain!" You sing in glory now The Seraph's joyous song: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, Who was, and is, And is to come!" Amen, amen! May you now find this rest, Put your trust in the Lord: Christ who died, and Christ who lives And loves the unborn; He saves us, and gives us Eternal rest.
