The original version of "Meditation" was created for live-remote performance during the lockdown stage of the pandemic. Inspired by a meditation by Laurie Goldstein Padron, the text is a moving reflection on gratitude in the midst of uncertainty. The music follows a journey from chaos to calm, mirroring the experience of meditating in a time of distress. Originally commissioned and premiered by a consortium of thirteen choirs (please see the list of consortium members in the score); this version was created for the Goldenrod Chorale. Also available for a cappella SATB or SSAA choirs.
