Melody Creation Project

This is a three-part, six-page reproducible PDF file that guides students through a group project activity that should fill up three or four 40-minute class periods. Students start by learning from an existing melody, finding patterns and creating their own percussion accompaniment. In Part 2, students add their own ostinato bass part, leading to Part 3 where students combine these skills to create their own 16-measure melody, ostinato part, and percussion accompaniment. Groups are encouraged to perform their creations at the end of every part. A great middle or year-end activity for any choir class!
