For 2 pianos, 4 hands. First Edition, custom print. Commissioned by the New World Festival of the Arts for duo pianists Shirley Irek and Robert Chumbley, who premiered the work in Miami, Florida in June of 1982 with the Minnesota Orchestra under Leonard Slatkin. This particular version for two pianos was prepared in 1985 and was premiered by the same pianist at the MANCA International Festival of Contemporary Music in Nice, France in February of 1986. Dedicated to American composer Ben Weber, Memento suggests the interplay of personalities that developed between Colgrass and Weber during the years Colgrass studied with him (1958-1960). These scores include both the piano duet version and the two piano parts meant to be played with orchestra. The full orchestral version with parts is available on rental (Y1885). Two performance scores (oversized).
